It was a great to have the opportunity to work with Cirque Du Soil, passionate campaigners for reducing food waste and promoting upcycling and a circular economy. The Mia Mia project was a concept visualisation for a mobile micro materials recycling hub and one of the three finalists in the City of Melbourne Fishermans Bend Digital Innovation Challenge 2024. The brief was to create an animated explainer as a supporting visual for the pitch, showing how the micro materials hub would be built, transported and used by the public, and also to be used across social media to support audience voting on the project.
I worked with the Cirque Du Soil industrial designer and other key stakeholders on how we could visualise and animate how the proposed hub would be assembled and function in a public space. The industrial design of the hub project was very fluid as a prototype and I needed to adapt rough concept sketches into rendered images while, at the same time, build the animation using a modular technique that could creatively take onboard the frequent evolutions of the technical structure and functions of the hub.
It is a fantastic concept that I hope will come to into fruition; I always love working with the team at Cirque Du Soil and looking forward to collaborating with them on future environmental projects.
